Keeping your Hair Shiny

Everyone wants to have the shiny, glossy hair that all the celebrities are showing off, but we all know they have their looked after by the professionals. Many of us can’t afford to go to the hairdressers every time we need to wash and have our hair styled so we cannot contend with the celebrities, instead what we can do is look after our hair. When our hair feels and looks good we feel good, hair is an important part of our appearance.

If you use hair straightners on a regular basis even daily then you’re more than likely damaging your hair. Damaging your hair will definitely not help you get the shine you desire for your hair. Having split ends and super straight hair won’t help you get shiny hair. Shiny hair comes from love and care by you and with a little bit of help you will get the results you want.

Every person has a different texture to their hair and therefore there’s different ways in which to make your hair more healthy and shiny. There are three main different types of hair:

Fine Hair: look for a shampoo that has added wheat protein and polymers these help coat the shafts of your hair which will help it look thicker. There are spray volumizers on the market which can help make your hair look shiner and these are light so they don’t weigh your hair down.

Normal Hair: if your hair needs repairing use a shampoo that has silk amino acids in these will help repair your hair structure. To add more shine to your hair use specific creams and gels which you can rub into your palm and pat onto your hair.

Thick Hair: use a shampoo that contains pomades these will moisturise your hair as well make your hair shiny.

Other tips to make your hair shinier are as follows:

• Deep condition your hair on a weekly basis
• Try to avoid using styling products as they make your hair look dull
• Use heat-activated shampoo
• When you dry your hair, give it a blast of cool air when you’ve dried it this will seal the cuticles which help make your hair shiner
• Mix one teaspoon of honey with four cups of warm water, pour onto your hair when washed, do not wash off, dry as usual
• Don’t brush your hair when it’s wet as you can break and stretch it
• Wash your hair in cold water, if you’re not brave enough rinse it with cold water just before you get out
• Don’t use shampoo or conditioner which has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in
• If you have oily hair don’t rub conditioner into your scalp, and make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly
• Have the ends of your hair cut every month
• Only use your hairdryer and hair straightners when you really need to as they cause heat damage and dry your hair out
• Use mayonnaise and work it well into your hair like you would with conditioner and put a shower cap on your head to contain it, it will make your hair more manageable and less dry

Clip-On Hair Extensions

If you’ve got short hair and you want instantly long hair but your hair doesn’t grow fast I know that feeling well have you ever considered hair extensions. You’re proberly thinking, oh no I can’t afford hair extensions then you’re wrong. Have you heard of clip on hair extensions?

Clip on hair extensions are becoming more and more popular especially with young adults who can’t afford to have hair extensions weaved, glued or bonded in. Clip on hair extensions are an affordable option in which they can do themselves at anytime they want, they are easy to put in and take out. We all like to change the way we look and clip on hair extensions allow us to do this, from short hair to long hair or from brown hair to having blonde highlights in. If you’re thinking about permanent hair extensions but not sure how they will look why not give clip on hair extensions a go first at least you will an idea on how your hair will look and if you like the look.

Clip on extensions are clipped onto your natural hair using metal clips like barrettes. They are usually small sections of hair so you will need more than one clip on at least 4 so you can spread them around your head. You want your hair extensions to look natural and part of your hair. Hair extensions not only can lengthen your hair but also add body and volume to your natural hair.

Hair extensions can be styled just the same as your natural hair. Clip on hair extensions come in either synthetic or natural. The synthetic of course will be cheaper, if you look after them like you do your natural hair they should last a good couple of months, they will last longer if you don’t use them everyday. There is some clip on hair extensions that are already styled for example styled as a sleek ponytail or a bun. These have been available for many years and usually found in department stores and beauty supply stores. These clip on hair extensions are usually made up of synethic hair which are cheap to buy but don’t last very long.

The advantages of clip on hair extensions are that they don’t damage your hair like some permanent hair extensions do with the gluing and weaving affect, you can choose when you want them in and when you want them out, low cost and you can get them to match your own hair colour.

If you want longer hair for a party or just can’t wait for your hair to grow then clip on hair extensions are the way to go, they’re affordable and look natural if you get the right colour to match your hair. They is a variety of different colours available in both synthetic and natural clip on hair extensions, you just need to make sure you get the right colour for you, if you do no one will know the hair isn’t yours, unless you tell them of course!

If your worried about putting the clip on hair extensions in yourself why not ask a hairdresser or professional to do them for you or at least show you how to put them in with some help.

Long Hair Vs Short Hair

There is always a continuously changing new fashion haircut from the Pob – Victoria Beckham’s famous bob hair cut to the feathered long hair of Jennifer Aniston. Hairstyles and haircuts I feel are an important statement for everyone, it’s the first thing most people look at your face and of course your hair frames your face.

I’m guessing you’ve all had a hair disaster or mistake somewhere along the line or a hairstyle or colour you regret now. I will always remember a few years ago the layered look came into fashion and as I love the colour pink I wanted something different so went for the layered look very short layers on top too with bright pink coloured hair between the layers. Yes it looked fab but when I wanted to grow my hair again oh dear bad mistake. To this day, I’m still growing the layers out and that was 5 years ago, in many ways I wish I had never had it done but it was nice at the time.

If you’ve got short hair there is only a certain amount of styles you can have a go at and also the option of having it up if you want. The shorter you have your hair you have less chance of being able to do this, that’s why personally I couldn’t have short hair all the time would drive me nuts. The bob that Victoria Beckham had created in the summer of 2007 became so popular thousands of people had their locks cut off to sport a new short bob called the Pob. I was tempted as I liked it but I knew I would get bored very quickly, I am one of those people who gets bored with the style and colour of their hair very quickly. I’m always trying something new out, a new colour, whether it be a new shade of blonde or adding a hint of pink somewhere.
A short hair cut can suit a lot of people from short and spiky to short and sleek, whatever your style may be, make sure it suits your face shape, always best to ask your hairstylist on what kind of cut they think would suit you.

If you’re hair is long then your like me, I just keep growing mine the longer the better, well I think I would have to have it cut if it got to my lower back. With long hair you have more to play with, from layers to feathering the front layers or having a variety of colours placed into the hair. I love having the ability to have my hair down when I want using a middle or side parting to having it up in a ponytail, pigtails, plait, bun or a messy up do. The list is endless with long hair, you can do what you want, of course it’s more difficult it you have layers put in as I found out, but handy grips come in place then. If you’re lazy like me some days, you can just put your hair back in a ponytail and leave the house, having short hair I know I couldn’t do this.

Whatever the length of your hair I’m guessing you like styling it in the ways you can. I like to have the option to what to do with my hair and with long hair this is possible from up do’s to down do’s. I would definitely go with long hair any day but I know other people prefer short hair, they find it easier to manage but I found it more difficult, always having to style it, at least with long hair you can leave it to dry and put it up when you want.

So what’s your favourite hair length short or long, mine is definitely long!!!!

The Ever Changing Fashion Market

Fashion is a funny thing; it’s made up of clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories people wear throughout the year on themselves. The clothes you buy from a clothes shop, a supermarket or even online shops the range will have something to do with the current fashion.

There’s always a new fashion item coming out especially to the start of each season from winter to summer to autumn to spring. It’s not only clothes and accessories to go with them that are fashion items but also hair and make-up. Hair has become an important statement in many people, especially if a celebrity has a new hair cut, it suddenly gets into the limelight and everyone seems to go and have their version of the hairstyle created. The most recent craze of hairstyle is definitely the Pob which Victoria Beckham introduced after getting rid of those hair extensions. She is continuously changing the Pobs colour and cut and many people copy this style making this a fashion statement.

Celebrities are the main fashion victims, they take it very seriously if a designer says this is this season’s look of course they will be wearing it. I think fashion has become more important in young adults due to the celebrities always sporting the fashion items. High street shops are always making their own version of the hot item for the season at a much cheaper price than the real thing, which attracts more people to buy it. Problem is the more people who buy the item the more likely you are to wear the same thing as another person at a party or shopping in town. So why not be different and individual, create your own style if you want just use on piece of fashion and mix other items together.

Brands become successful as people buy their clothing, bags, shoes and accessories after seeing them in magazines as the hottest item of the month. The more the brands advertise the more likely they are to have high sales. The companies use clever tricks to get customers to buy their products with special offers and limited edition items. Many brands charge high prices that celebrities and high earners can only afford but there are some people who don’t care what the price is the higher the better in some sense, buying an item just because of the name on the item, getting them in debt with the use of credit cards. These companies are able to return premium profits for themselves at the cost of the customers.

With the ever changing fashion circle you can buy one item of clothing and its out already, it continuously changes from country to country, climate to climate and date to date. Fashion from the 70’s has recently been in fashion again in the last year so it’s amazing how fashions do come back. I had an item of clothing my mum said she wore when she was around my age too, so it proves fashion is an ever changing circle.
